Tamiya's 1/48 scale T-34 is available online from Mission Models

Construction

Here is Tamiya's 1/48 scale T-34 built with the following changes and additions:

• Engine vent screen scratch-built using styrene & aluminum mesh

• All handles & tie-downs replaced with brass wire.

• MV lens added to headlamp

• Fenders thinned from inside with Dremel & dented

• Turret welds enhanced with heated Xacto #11 blade.

• Brass wire antenna

Painting and Markings

Painting and markings details are as follows:

• Base coat: Tamiya XF 65 Field Grey

• Liquid mask applied to worn edges oversprayed with Tamiya XF 65 with Yellow & Buff added to "fade" base colour

• All washes done with Winsor & Newton oils

• Bare metal - graphite powder applied with finger

• Small paint chips applied w/ oil paint using #10/0 brush

• Kit decals
