Lanchester Armoured Car
Nick Balmer
It is meant to represent on of the Royal Naval Air Service cars operating
in Galica in 1917, under Commander Locker Lampson. The Cockade is the Czarist Cockade.
The model in 1/43 scale, is built to my own plans drawn from photographs. The hull and
turret are largely built of lithoplate, which is embossed to give the rivets.
The wheels are built from plastic car, with etched brass motorcycle spokes from Scale Link
Accessories 1/32 scale range. The tyres were formed by wet forming Milliput onto the
plastic card. Then fine sanding down when dry.
